South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) Advance Care Planning Workshops in Kerrville every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 10:30 to 11:30 am.

Battle Ground to Breaking Ground project is open to military veterans, active duty service members, their families and other beginning farmers and ranchers. The program consists of three phases that teach participants how to start, maintain and grow a farm or ranch.

Regular meetings for the Texas Hill Country PHWFF program will take place on Tuesdays from noon to 3 pm and Wednesdays from 5 to 8 pm at the Hill Country Veterans Center, 411 Meadowview Ln, Kerrville. All are welcome to attend any or all of the meetings. In addition, the program will hold meetings on Mondays from 2 to 3:30 pm for inpatients at the Kerrville VA Medical Center.

Texas has the “State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry” (STEAR) program for citizens who would need help in an emergency to provide information on themselves, a family member, or other person. The information is put into a database accessible to emergency planners and emergency responders. Emergency Management personnel will be able to use the information in the database to respond to major emergencies such as our recent week-long freeze, or if a fire forces an evacuation of residents.

Texas Veterans Commission Entrepreneur Program provides Veteran entrepreneurs who are pursuing small business ownership or are small business owners seeking opportunities to grow their businesses with guidance on conducting market research, writing business plans, and developing financial projections to get them lender-ready.

The Texas Veterans Portal connects veterans, their families, and caregivers to the benefits and services earned through their military service.

This provides up to 12 months of tuition, fee, and monthly housing allowance payments, based on Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, to qualifying Veterans seeking training for employment in a high-demand occupation.
