Honor Flight Trips at No Cost Information
Veterans applying for the Honor Flight trips through Honor Flight Austin may use the below applications [WWII, Korea (must have the Korean Service Medal on DD-214), and Vietnam (must have the Vietnam Service Medal on DD-214)]. By submitting your application now, you can get on the list for the upcoming flights. The trip is free of charge. Spouses cannot go on the trip. Print the application (single-sided) and attach a copy of your DD-214 or WWII discharge document and bring it to Tami King's office. If you want to go on a trip with another veteran, write that at the top of your application. The application will be scanned and sent to the POC.

Requirements are:
- WWII (Service during December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946).
- Korea (Service from June 27, 1950 to January 31, 1955 and must have the Korean Service Medal on DD-214).
- Vietnam (Service from August 5, 1964 to May 7, 1975 and must have the Vietnam Service Medal on DD-214).

- Meets on 2nd Tuesdays at 6:30 pm at the National Guard Armory at 598 Armory Rd.

- ProjectMEND: non-profit organization that provides people living with disability and illness with medical equipment and assistive technologies. Special grant through the Texas Veterans Commission to help Veterans and their family members (includes spouses, surviving spouses and dependents): see the following flyers:
- National Purple Heart Hall of Honor requests all Veterans who were awarded the Purple Heart Medal to sign up for the Roll of Honor Data Base. It is free of charge and is for living and deceased veterans. View the enrollment form application (PDF).

- VA Care in the Community: South Texas (Kerrville and San Antonio areas) Non-VA Community Care Brochure (PDF). If you go to an Emergency Room or are admitted to a Civilian Hospital, you must notify the VA within 72 hours - this does not guarantee the VA will pay the bill. It is based on your priority group and several laws. All outside care is your responsibility unless you have an appointment in writing from the VA that authorizes that appointment.

- AACOG Weatherization Assistance Program is funded by Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and United States Department of Energy. The program is designed to help low-income people overcome high cost of energy by installing weatherization energy conservation measures in their homes - at no cost. The program is open to applicants whose overall household income falls at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Homeowners and renters can apply.

Battle Ground to Breaking Ground
Battle Ground to Breaking Ground project is open to military veterans, active duty service members, their families and other beginning farmers and ranchers. The program consists of three phases that teach participants how to start, maintain and grow a farm or ranch.
